Severnvale Smallholders' Association

 

We are a group of people whose main interests are:

  • Flora and Fauna
  • The Environment
  • Conservation
  • Organic Growing

We meet at The Stuart Room in The Chantry in Thornbury at 7.30 on the third Wednesday of every month, over the winter months, to hear enthusiastic speakers talk about their favourite topics. Visitors are most welcome (you do not have to be a smallholder) to join us in an informal friendly atmosphere.

 

Here is our AUTUMN PROGRAMME for 2012:

Wed. 19 Sept.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – followed by an illustrated talk on The Asian Hornet is on its way to Britain by Jeff Bee. Light refreshments will follow.

Wed. 17 Oct.

Members Evening – Talks by Ian McCullam on Keeping Llamas and Ruth Kitson on Showing and Judging Pedigree Dogs.

Wed. 21 Nov.

Contracting for Smallholders - Haymaking, Paddock Spraying, Planting and Harvesting of Potatoes – An illustrated talk by local Stuart Gardener.

Fri. 7 Dec.*

Annual SKITTLES MATCH versus the South Gloucestershire Beekeepers at the Salutation Inn, Ham, Berkeley – with supper *

If you are interested, do come and join us. Visitors are charged just £2.
